Crazy Horse leather

Getting a consistent supply of heavyweight, ‘Crazy Horse’ leather for the Crazy Horse Karabiner and Buckle bags was a real struggle. Crazy Horse leather is actually made from cowhide.

We initially used remnant stocks which involved hunting down wholesalers and visiting warehouses all over the country. But eventually the supply dried up.

Luckily, some of the original UK tanneries still exist and we found one able to give the leather exactly the finish we wanted. The machinery may be old (some of it seems Dickensian) but the experience and skill is still very much alive. And, they could make exactly what we wanted.

Thanks to these factories we can source our raw products from the UK. Plus speaking to the manufacturer and watching the product being made gives a real connection to the finished article.
